Stop Overpaying For Your Cell Phone Bill (Seriously!)

Did you know that the average cell phone bill in America is about $114/a month? That’s crazy talk. If you’re paying anywhere near that per phone, you’re overpaying by a lot. Even with the latest cell phones and the greatest technology, you don’t have to spend nearly that much money per month to browse Facebook and text your friends. Here are a few things to consider when you’re thinking about switching to save money.

When considering a cell phone plan, you should be looking for not just the best deal, but the best coverage. Check coverage maps and see where you go to most – reducing your monthly payment only works if you get service in your home or at work, after all.

Think about what you actually use and need, and only get that much. You don’t need unlimited data if you’re mostly at home on your Wifi, or at work… on their wifi. Look at plans like Google Fi, which has reasonable overage charges if you end up using a little too much data. Finally, avoid a contract. That’s how they lock you into their overpriced plan! There are a ton of great, contract-free options. It isn’t like it was 10 years ago, and you had to go with a big carrier.
