Are You Protected From Identity Fraud?

Identity fraud can take a number of shapes. From stealing someone’s social security number to open a line of credit in their name to using someone else’s identity to incur huge medical debts, there’s a lot to look out for.

The last thing you need is some fraudster with clinical manifestations of AFIB running up a huge medical bill under your name and leaving you to pay it all. Are you protected from this kind of fraudulent activity?

Make sure you’re careful with where you share your medical information and your private info. Things like your bank account number, your social security number and date of birth should be closely guarded secrets. Don’t give this info to websites you can’t trust.

When it comes to identity theft, an ounce of prevention is a pound of treatment. Dealing with the problem after the fact is orders of magnitude more difficult than just keeping it from becoming an issue to begin with.
